I have 1 new quilt that I made this week.  If I can find my camera, I’ll post a pic.  The weather forecast is good with warm (not hot) temps with no rain in sight.  Next week is supposed to be super hot so I’m glad that this is my last show till September.

Feels Like Fall

Art Quilt ‘Feels Like Fall’

This quilt measures 33 1/2 inches square.   Genuine buffalo horn beads adorn each square.  I used some of the new fabric line from Jinny Beyer along with some of my favorite fabrics.  This quilt definitely has an African feel to me.  The fabric that appears to be a  leaf-shaped woodcut, I’ve had in hiding for some time now, waiting for the perfect spot in a dramatic earth toned quilt. $245.00

Paris Cats Quilted Wall Hanging

23.5 X 23.5″    $85.00 with $10.00 shipping.     SOLD JUNE 2, 2012.

For sale at:  http://www.etsy.com/listing/91341016/paris-cats-quilted-wall-hanging

Paris Cats is one of my newest quilts in the cat series. It is my original design and one of a kind.  Completed Jan 24, 2012.

This wall hanging would look great in your family room, bedroom, office…you name it! It is whimsical but very sophisticated at the same time. None of my quilts are cutesie. I do all of the piecing and quilting on my Bernina and the stitches that I use vary based on each individual cat. I try to quilt around the design when possible. Hopefully you can see how small my stitching designs are. These are time consuming, but I love the way it looks.
A few of the photos were taken before I decided to add the jasper bead noses.

The colors are red, turquoise, yellow, brown, black and a soft green.

9 Cats made from 9 different fabrics. 4 fabrics are batiks, 2 designer florals, Mr. Paris Cat is made from the only fat quarter of beautiful black and white fabric with Parisian designs that I have. The black cat in the center is made from a beautiful floral tonal print. I have used glass eyes that really shine. I have added jasper bead noses as a finishing touch.

This quilt has been embellished with glass beads. I quilt with Sulky© rayon thread. Many of the fabrics I use have been hand-painted, hand-stamped, and/or hand-transferred by me in my Lakeland, MN home. My website has more pictures and quilts for sale at: Quality-Quilts.com

This quilt comes with a simple hanging tool that I have created. It is simple and easy to use, and will be virtually unseen when it is used to hang your quilt on your wall. The only holes in your wall will be created by using two straight pins.

This photo was taken prior to completion of quilt and it shows lint and a few threads that will be removed for the final picture.

I photographed this quilt on my deck where shadows from the trees affected some of the colors.  I will get new/additional  photos soon.

BROWN GEESE Fiber Art Quilt –SOLD

Brown Geese measures 28 by 35 inches.

It is composed primarily of fabrics  from the Japanese Serenity Collection of taupes by Daiwabo.  These fabrics are extremely popular and fly off the shelves of quilt shops due to their soft luxuriousness,  muted tones, the workmanship of the screen printing, and the unique dyes and color shading which all are a testament to the quality of the fabric.

The subtle coloring of this piece will look sophisticated for years to come.   I take pride in my work and the closeup details  provide evidence to that fact.

The quilt has a hanging sleeve and simple directions for tips on mounting it on your wall.   The quilting was done with Sulky brand rayon thread and the beads are a subtle complement with my intention to not overwhelm the calming mood reflected by the design and fabrics.

GLORY

Glory measures 35 by 45 inches.

Again with the circle theme.  I made this quilt in the summer of 2010.  This flag quilt ‘Glory” was an attempt to create a flag made of circles but still maintaining the stripes.

I used several red, cream/white fabrics, and blue that would make a bold statement.  One of the main fabrics is the one with the Gettysburg Address written on it.  And signed by Abe Lincoln.  I have added a spattering of beads and quilted it with beautiful rayon thread.

I take great pride in my workmanship and this should be evident from the detailed photos. The binding has been sewn on by machine on the front for a smooth even finish, and then hand sewn on the back to avoid additional stitching adding to the front. I use high quality materials in creating my one of a kind art quilts. The quilt is backed with a beautiful heavy weight drapery fabric in  a damask pattern that gives the quilt a luxurious weight that regular quilts don’t have.
